5 Common Myths About
Australian PR

Misinformation can cost you years and thousands of dollars. Let's bust the most common myths about studying and migrating to Australia.

❌ Myth
"Trade courses are an easier pathway to PR than university degrees."
✅ Reality
Both pathways are equally valid. The right choice depends entirely on your individual goals, budget, English level, and background.
❌ Myth
"A university degree guarantees a better job and faster PR in Australia."
✅ Reality
Trade skills often have faster employment due to critical shortages. University degrees have a higher long-term earnings ceiling — but trades win on speed and cost.
❌ Myth
"Trade courses are for students who can't get into university."
✅ Reality
Choosing a trade is a smart, strategic financial decision. Skilled tradespeople earn $80,000–$150,000+ with experience or self-employment.
❌ Myth
"Only young people under 25 can do trade courses effectively."
✅ Reality
Mature-age students regularly and successfully complete trade training. Flexibility and practical focus make trades accessible at any age.
❌ Myth
"You can choose any course and still get PR — the course doesn't matter."
✅ Reality
Your occupation MUST appear on the relevant skilled occupation list. Choosing the wrong course can leave you with a qualification that has no PR pathway at all.
