  • Put little more extra efforts:
  • Nobody cares more about your career than you do:
  • Don’t wait for appreciation or Feedback:
  • Stay focused:
  • Work out your things own your own:

Students who study abroad desperately wait for their graduation day. After countless hours of studying and stressing over assignments and exams, finishing university is one of the greatest feelings. It is a big accomplishment for students. Especially international students who study abroad, away from home and loved ones and manage to get a degree after all that struggle. Well, many students celebrate and cherish it while many start to plan for the future already. Also, finishing university means the beginning of full-time work, at least for those students, who manage to secure a good job. It is actually the start of practical life.

Now when students are preparing for their finals or final year, they usually do not have much time to think about the after graduation plan. While they are worrying about how to get through with the degree and secure grades, they miss out some very important details. Although most of the students to look for good opportunities around them to secure their future and kick start their career. Starting your career and getting a perfect job after graduation is never going to be smooth sailing, so to help you all out Edvise hub come up with 5 unspoken rules for graduates that can help you find your first entry job.

Put little more extra efforts:

So now when you are done with your graduation and fortunate enough to secure a good job. It’s a high time to prove yourself worthy enough of your job. You might have to put extra effort to show your abilities and skill and there is no harm in it. Making yourself worthy and valuable is one-step closer to growth. You might get your first job because of your grades and degree but to sustain your position and grow successfully in that job, you have to give your 100%.

It is good to show willingness and incentive to go beyond and above, but not at the expense of your own duties. Which means you do not have to go out of your ways to do something to please anyone. The best way to maintain your position is to stay focused on your work and do it with efficiency to prove yourself best for the job.

Nobody cares more about your career than you do:

After graduating, all students can think about getting a job and starting a career, now to be in a race and start with the career students sometimes rush things and get themselves into the very first job they could find. This is where most of the students make mistakes, opt for any other job, that they are not really interested in, lowers your capability and work interest.

You are the one who should be concern about the work, you want to do and can see your future in it. Although we understand that finding, a perfect job is not easy and it is a whole other topic of debate. But rushing toward any job is not safe for your career. Give yourself some time, try to do research and evaluate yourself and see your credentials.

Don’t wait for appreciation or Feedback:

When you start working for the first time, you might feel that your work is not appreciated and you do not get feedback. But remember your workplace won’t be like the university, where you receive feedback on your every task. Because managers at work have, their hands filled with so many other responsibilities and they will not be assessing every move of yours.

You have to look after your work yourself, put your 100% effort and do it at your best. Your hard work will speak through your work and you will be rewarded for it at the right time. So do not lose your guard and work hard to get yourself at the best.

Stay focused:

The difference between university and professional life is substantial when it comes to details. You have to be focused and attentive to details because this is how you identify errors and fix them at time. Spelling mistakes in 2000-word essay might not seem as a big deal but the same mistake in an email can be considered as a lack of professionalism. Therefore, no matter how crucial it is but getting your mistakes fixed and stay focused on work can separate the good graduates from the average ones.

Work out your things own your own:

The best way to be motivated and successful in the workplace is to be dependent on yourself only. Do not look for someone to teach and guide you things, try to be smart and work out your stuff yourself. This will help you learn things quicker and better. Colleagues and managers with many responsibilities will surround you; they will surely help you out with some of the stuff but will not be here to provide information and advice every time. So you better, get your work game strong and be attentive to every small detail for your own good. You need to learn to use your skills at their best and build a relationship with your co-workers to work in a good and friendly environment.

These are the top 5 graduate rules, every graduate should follow after getting the first job to grow and get better. Edvise hub always tries to provide information that can help international students with their education and career growth.
