The University of Toronto, founded by royal charter in 1827 as King’s College, the University of Toronto is one of the world’s great public research university, which provide talented students affordable access to world-class research and scholars. Campus Location

The university has three campuses which offer a wonderful environment of the most prestigious architecture and green space all around the campuses where the students, faculty and staff live, study and work. Mississauga Campus (UTM)

The University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) is the second-largest campus of the University of Toronto and has a student population of over 14,000 students. The campus located in the Greater Toronto Area has an institute of Communication, Culture, Information and technology, 15 academic departments. It offers 148 programs and 89 academic fields. The campus is proud to have the best research facilities and it is also recognized internationally for its innovative work. UTM’s facilities and libraries are all situated within 225 acres of land.

St. George Campus

The oldest of the three campuses is located right next to Queens Park in downtown Toronto and occupies some 67 hectares. Scarborough Campus

A hub for research and innovative learning, the University of Toronto has been described as a mid-sized university, throughout much of its existence, it is the smallest campus among the three campuses. U of T Scarborough offers over 250 program options and more than 13,00 courses annually. It is also one of the first universities that offer cooperative learning. GMAT and GRE Requirements for University of Toronto

First, you need to decide the program you are interested in and look up the admission requirements for your respective program and see if you meet those requirements. A minimum score of 570/800 is required on a GMAT. The minimum requirement for an engineering graduate considering a post-graduate program is a GRE score of 309 out of 340. The university offers over 175 research and professional Master and Doctoral programs in more than 85 departments. 

IELTS and TOEFL Requirements for University of Toronto 

If you are not Canadian and want to pursue your studies at the University of Toronto, you will do the same. However, these programs also have a language test requirement. If English is not your first language then you have to opt for English proficiency. The requirement for the IELTS module is an overall band of 6.5 with no band under 6.0. The requirement for TOEFL’s internet test is 100/120 with a minimum score of 22/30 in the writing section.

Usually, you receive an acknowledgement email after a week of submitting an application. When you do receive it, you need to submit all the required documents.

Application process of the University of Toronto

Application forms you will fill depend upon where you are from and the program you will choose. Application forms for domestic and international students are different and also for full and part-time students.

International applicants will find the University of Toronto International Application here. If the applicant doesn’t apply to any other university in Ontario, they will use the same application. If applicants are also interested in applying for other universities in Ontario too then they will use the OUAC 105 Application. If they have already applied by using the OUAC 105 Application then they don’t need to apply to the International Application. The application fee is non-refundable and is $180.

Application deadline of U of T

The university application process starts in the fall before you intend to begin your studies. The deadline for each program differs from one another. The university encourages the applicants to submit their applications and required documents as well before the deadline as the spots fill up quickly. Acceptance rate of U o 

The acceptance rate of U of T’s is 45%, their acceptance rate is relatively high when compared to other renowned universities in Canada. They accept both domestic and international students so the application process is competitive. The prospective applicants should gather the required documentation and send in their applications as early as possible so that they can be considered by the university as potential candidates.

Cost of living in Canada

The cost of living depends upon your current circumstances, whether you are living on-campus or off-campus or whether you have a meal plan or not. The cost of living and food will be approximately $15,000 or more if you are living off the campus per academic year. This doesn’t include the cost of commuting to the university.

Living on campus will cost you approximately $8000 to $15000 per academic year, depending on your choice of accommodation and meal plan you will choose.

Canadian visa requirement

Proof of no prior criminal record

You can apply online through Citizenship and Immigration Canada website or mail in your application documents. Depending on the country you live in, you might be summoned to have your biometric taken. For that, you have to pay $85 aside from the $150 visa application fees. You might be called for an interview as well. It could take up to 90 days for them to start processing your application.
