Overview

This is a private university that was established in 1740, under the great efforts of Benjamin Franklin. It is situated in Philadelphia Pennsylvania USA. This is one of the top leading institutes in terms of research studies and offers various undergraduate programs namely Liberal Arts, Business, Engineering, and Nursing. While the graduate programs are law, medicine, veterinary medicine, dental medicine, education, communication, fine arts, and social work.

The acceptance rate for international students 

The acceptance rate for international students at the University of Pennsylvania is 14.9% in early decisions and 4.4% in regular decisions. However, the total or overall acceptance rate is 5.9%, which explains how much they are selective. There is a general rule for all international students. They have to fulfil the academic requirements: 

For Undergraduate Program 

  • The minimum final grade should be 85% to get admission. 

For Graduate Program

  • The minimum CGPA of 3.8 out of 4.00 or at least 94% in a four-year Honor Bachelor’s degree. 
  • Scores of GRE/GMAT (optional for 2022-23 students)
  • English Language Proficiency scores
    • TOEFL iBT: 100 recommended
    • IELTS: 6.5 recommended
  • Work experience

  • International English Language Test System (IELTS) minimum score 7 band 
  • Duolingo English Test (DET) minimum required 120.
