University of Manchester Overview
The University of Manchester is a highly respected university across the globe as the centre of teaching excellence and an innovative research university that is a part of the Russell Group of universities, with outstanding facilities and the widest range of courses. The University of Manchester is among the largest universities in the UK with around 38,000 students, almost 9,000 of them are international students. It ranked 27th in the QS World University Rankings 2022 and also ranked as the most targeted university by graduate recruiting companies more frequently than any other university (high Flier 2006-2019).
It was established in the year 1824 when the Mechanics’ Institute (later UMIST) was founded and history is interlinked with Manchester’s pride in being the world’s first industrial metropolis. In 1880, it became a constituent college of Victoria University after it relocated to new facilities on Oxford Road, Chorlton-on-Medlock. It was the first civic university to be awarded a Royal Charter in England. Apart from Russell Group, the university is also associated with the worldwide Universities Research Association, Sutton 30, EUA, ACU, and Universities UK.
University of Manchester Alumni
The University of Manchester currently has 25 Nobel Laureates (10 for Physics, 9 for Chemistry, 3 for Physiology/Medicine, and 3 for Economics. The University of Manchester has two campuses that are spread across 667 acres. The university campus is located across a broad region in the city centre. It has magnificent Victorian and modern structures. There are also peaceful places where students can rest and socialize with friends, like planted gardens, cafes, and common spaces. It also has places of worship for the majority of faiths on campus.
The university is divided into three faculties, the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty OF Humanities. It also has 8,000 rooms in 19 halls and offers a variety of accommodation options to its international students.

Academic Requirements for Undergraduate Programs
- If you are a student of A-levels, then you can apply for direct entry to the first year of an undergraduate program. The minimum requirement is A* AA –ABB.
- Applicants who have taken the Intermediate Certificate, HSC or Hasaanvia Khasa will need to complete a foundation program only then they can join an undergraduate course.
- Applicants with 70%-79% (grade A) in Mathematics and physics can apply to the University of Manchester’s Science and Engineering with an integrated year program.
- Applicants with an overall 65% or higher would be considered for the foundation program run in participation with the University by INTO Manchester.
Academic Requirements for Graduate Programs
- Applicants with a minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree from an HEC recognized university are considered for postgraduate programs. The minimum requirement is 70% all over.
- Applicants with a 2 year bachelor’s degree with a 2-year master’s degree should contact the international office for further information.

- Applicants will apply through UCAS (the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service in the UK.

- Applicants will apply directly to the university through its Application Portal.

- £22 for a single choice, rising to £26.50 for two choices or more. It will be paid to UCAS.
