Summer breaks are usually one of the most exciting time for students. In Australia, the majority of students enjoy long summer break from mid-December to late January.  So, after when the rushing & exhausting semester and the stress of exams, assignment are over, students think about what to do now. Many students could not decide what exactly they should be doing and in that entire struggle, they are left with no time.

Australia is one of those countries, which does not only have mesmerizing view, landscapes but also have dozen of opportunity for well-deserving, hardworking students. Now when we are talking about summer break and how many things can be done in this period of time to utilize it at its best. There are multiple ways to utilize your vacation and make a good out of it, where you do not have to miss out on any fun and you can be productive as well without putting much of effort. Edvise hub decided to list few of the amazing things/activities to help you all while your mind is still juggling how to make summer breaks enjoyable yet productive.

  1. Relax:

The initial first few days after you finish your exams and are on summers break, nothing can be better than sleeping, catching up on your favorite series or reading books/novels, or just enjoy staying at home. It is important to relax yourself for a while where you do not have to do much brainstorming or work, this will restore your state of wellbeing. Now after few days of relaxing, if you feel you want to get out of comfort zone and do something so you won’t get bored, you can check the below mentioned ideas.

  1. Explore Australia:

One of the best thing international student can do in summer break is to explore Australia. Australia is one of the most beautiful countries, having breathtaking landscapes; sights and infrastructure, there are countless things/destination to choose. You spent whole year living in same area, this is the best way to utilize this time by visiting different places to make the most out of your time in Australia.

  1. Work (as much as you like)

Most of the international students like to do part time jobs while they are still studying in Australia to bare the living expenses etc. Australia allow international students to work 20hr per week. If you already have a job and you are willing to work for more hours to earn something extra, summers break is the best time to do that, as, in summer break you can work for unlimited hours and can save money for next study year. Moreover, if you do not have the job, this is the best time to search for it, because many businesses take extra staff and “Christmas casual” in summer break.

  1. More study:

Many universities in Australia Operate on trimester system to offer summer semester for some specific courses. If you want to

complete your degree as soon as possible, you can utilize summer break by taking those subjects to finish it earlier.

If you really plan to learn something in summer break, you can always go for classes other than your course. You can do different short courses like language classes, short

courses in an industry related field to enhance your skill and job opportunities.

  1. Internship:

If you are done relaxing at home, in your summer break and have not decided anything, or do not have any plans. The internship can be the best option to utilize the summer break by gaining some work experience (get brownie points in your resume) especially when you are relax from your studies. Internship is very important for the career growth and every student must do it to get the exposure as well.
