Post Graduate Work Permit in Canada
Once students complete their education in Canada, they can apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP). PGWPs are open work permits granted by the government of Canada to overseas students who have completed a program of study from a university in Canada. PGWPs allow the bearer to work for any employer in Canada for as many hours as they like. This work visa or permit is valid for 8 months to 3 years and is an excellent opportunity to gain significant job experience in Canada. Once an applicant has worked in Canada, he or she has an opportunity of obtaining permanent residency in Canada.
You can stay in Canada for 90 days after your completion letter is available, so apply for a work permit within those 90 days. Otherwise, if you don’t have enough, your study permit is expiring, you can first apply for visitors’ status or can leave Canada, and can apply for a work permit after 180 days of completion letter.
