London School of Economics: Overview

London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), based in ever-vibrant London, is truly a dream university for students who want to study social sciences around the world. It was established in 1895. LSE is a member of the Russell Group, Association of Commonwealth Universities, and European University Association and is often considered a part of the “Golden Triangle” of top universities in South East England. London School of Economics: Admission Requirements 

Each year, the London School of Economics and Political Science offers several undergraduate, diploma, masters, doctoral and executive programs to international students. Admission requirements for international students are listed below:

  • Students must have 80-85%  in each subject of board exams for UG programs

  • Statement of Purpose
  • Letter of Recommendation

Academic Requirements for Undergraduate Program

The London School of Economics and Political Science reviews each application individually. Programs offered to international students have specific admission requirements.

Academic requirements for undergraduate programs at LSE are listed below:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4-point scale.
  • GCE A in Maths (~90%) (it depends on the course you are applying) 
  • Minimum 80-85% in each subject

Academic Requirements for Postgraduate Program

The minimum entry requirements for each level of study in master’s programs are different. Basic entry requirements for graduate programs at LSE include a previous degree and proficiency in English. Students are encouraged to apply without the assistance of any paid professional assistance or accreditation services. The general admission requirements for postgraduate programs at LSE are set out below:

  • GPA 3.5 on a 4.0 scale

  • GRE or GMAT scores
  • Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation.

English Language Requirements

LSE accepts international students with country-specific English test results. The school only accepts these points if they are achieved in one session. International students whose first language is not English must exhibit proficiency in the English language by submitting scores on either of the test mentioned below:

  • IELTS overall score of 7.0
  • TOEFL-Min score 107
  • PTE’s Academic overall score of 70
