Climb the qualifications ladder:
Now one more thing that surely can improve your chances of gaining PR, is to build your skills and knowledge by progressing to a more advanced qualification. For example, if you are doing a diploma and you move to a bachelor’s degree. Diploma and trade qualification has 10 points on the point test, while bachelor’s degree attracts 15 and Doctorates attract 20 points.
Study in Regional Area:
Now it is actually good news for those who have studied in regional areas of Australia. Many students study in regional areas for its laid-back environment and pure Aussie culture but studying in a regional area, completing 2years degree in a regional area can get you 5 additional point toward your PR. Those who have lived in a specific regional area of Australia and have worked full time in that area for 12 months in a specified regional area are eligible for different visa types.
Develop your English language skills:
Even having expertise in the English language can get you some extra points. Applicants deemed as having English language ability that is proficient (IELTS 7) or above (IELTS 8) can gain an additional 10 and 20 points respectively.
