University life gets tougher by the minute, there’s no arguing that. This phase can be best explained by one of those moving platform games we’ve all played as children- You can’t slow down, you can’t go back, and you have to make leaps of faith the very second an opportunity comes your way! The grind doesn’t end here, sadly, because you’ve to manage to get to the finish line in a set amount of time and ‘lives’. We know every university student feels the exact same way for every day of the week.

The best way you can avoid getting stressed out over your university life is to keep yourself top-notch in all other departments, especially finances. As materialistic as it may seem, but being financially stable can alleviate your mood and make you look at life from a positive perspective. Earning your own money while you’re enrolled in university seems a silly move that’ll just add more burden atop the mountain of research assignments you have to write and lectures you have to attend. However, this is just a misconception- working for a set 2-3 hours in an efficient way and earning some money while you’re at it can relieve you beyond bounds.

First off, being financially independent can make you realize that you’re skilled enough to stand up on your feet. You can look at your education from the perspective that you’re equipping yourself with additional armor, rather than thinking that university is your only shot at living substantially in the future. With some added financial assets, you can treat yourself to healthy food, clothes that you feel confident in, and any other necessity that you need to keep a smile shining on your face. Here are five freelance job ideas that’ll help you make the cut without tiring yourself out!

freelancing university

Online Tutoring

Since you’re already actively participating in your class and often have to present yourself in front of an audience, may it be to answer a question, a quiz or a research project, online tutoring is the best way for you to make extra income. You’ll be revising the knowledge you’ve gained in university, ensuring better grades, and you’ll be getting paid for it, too! Online tutoring is quite a flexible job as well because you choose the hours you’ll be taking a session with students. The students aren’t hard to teach, either- choosing a student a few grades lower than yours makes the job very comfortable and convenient. Sessions can be held via video calls, and only take 1-2 hours a day.

Freelance content writing

Writers can never go out of work. Freelance content writing is a game-changer for university students because they’re already quite fluent with writing, given how many assignments and coursework projects they have to type up and submit on set deadlines. If you’re pursuing a literature-based degree, you can opt for writing short stories of blog posts for website owners who pay heartily to have some well-written content on their pages. If you’re ready to take on even more research assignments and projects you can find hundreds of collaborative freelancing academic writing websites online. All you need to do is explore, and earn!

Graphic designing

For all the tech-geeks out there, this is the job for you! Graphic designing is a very famous freelancing option for young adults because websites pay handsome amounts of money to anyone who can make their domains look eye-catching. Well-designed, smart looking websites are very profitable monetarily. Graphic designing isn’t too hard to learn but requires some practice. For people who are already pursuing a degree in animation or arts can easily make use of modern technology and become top-notch graphic designers, all while polishing their own skills to utmost perfection. Graphic designing has a wide range of options to choose from- you can be a logo designer, an animator, an e-book illustrator, and so much more!

Digital marketing

The reason why digital marketing is one of the most profitable freelancing options out there is because hundreds of website owners need a steady amount of online traffic every day to keep their sites running smoothly. They can put advertisements on their websites that help them earn passive income. Being a promoter for such online website forums can make you some money on the side as well. It’s pretty easy to list yourself as a digital marketer or apply for marketing jobs online. People pursuing a career in business and web-marketing can get just the experience they need to benefit them later in their lives. You can even make use of your social media handles if you’re influential on sites like Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat, by becoming an affiliate marketer. It’s a win-win situation!

Captioner

Even the university students who can live without their daily dose of Netflix or Youtube video-watching can make money through freelancing. It’s a dream job for the couch potato- all you need to do to be a captioner is to watch videos online and write captions for them that perfectly sync the audio file. A university student might find this job to be extremely refreshing. It’ll just put you in a high mood for all your academic years to be making solid cash by watching videos that you will be watching every day anyway!

University students don’t need to stress over how they’re struggling to make ends meet if they invest a set amount of time into making some money on the side. Finding a simple job that relates to your university degree might the reason why you get that A+ on a research assignment or project, too. The best part about freelancing is that you aren’t bound to do it all the time, either. If you’re too swamped with exams or a rough schedule, you can go offline and none can judge or fire you. It’s the perfect solution to the modern-day problems of unemployment as well, as you may work towards making these simple online jobs an asset for the future. Freelancing is something every student should consider and explore to the fullest!
