Financial Technology (English- Thesis)

The program targets candidates for managerial priorities with a strong background on applied microeconomics, macroeconomics and finance along with a thorough knowledge on Turkish and world economies.

Degree Details

The program intends to give a vision to the candidates which would enable them to broadly analyze the economic and financial issues they would come across. The candidates are expected to be employed in financial institutions as chief economists and market analysts. They may also be employed in research departments of banks, brokerage houses and other similar financial intermediaries.

Our graduates are mainly developing their career’s in all kinds of institutions in financial industry in these positions;

– Investment Banking
– Asset Management
– Portfolio Management
– Corporate Treasury Management

English Requirements

If English is not your first language, or you do not have an internationally recognized English qualification, you will need to provide evidence of your English language ability. You can bring one of the internationally recognized test results or you can take the proficiency test of Bahçeşehir University (For Undergraduate Programs Min. Score: 60-Graduate Programs Min. Score: 65)

Students who want to transfer credits to our university must complete their application and become a registered student. They can then visit the Student Affairs Office to make a transfer application. Please note that we cannot provide any information regarding the transfer of courses. The decision will be made by the faculty you have applied for and enrolled to.
If you are willing to transfer course credit you would still need to apply as a freshman student. After finalizing your registration, your Bachelor’s or Master’s transcript will be sent to the respective faculty. The faculty admission committee will evaluate your transcript record and make the final decision on which courses can be transferred. We would like to kindly emphasize that, regardless of these application procedures, there is no guarantee that your courses can be transferred. This decision is strictly up to the faculty committee’s decision to approve, deny, and/or consider transfer applications.

  • Master’s Program in Financial Economics consist total 10 must courses and a project course.
  • 70% attendance is essential in the classes of master programs .
  • Our courses take place weekday evenings between the hours of 19:00 to 22:00 at Karaköy Campus.
  • Duration of the program is three semesters.

  • Financial economics encompasses a broad area of topics and issues, including corporate investments and financing policy, security valuation, portfolio management, the behavior of prices in speculative markets, financial institutions, and intermediation. Students must understand the economic theory on which most of the financial economics is based in addition to having strong quantitative skills.
  • The financial economics program in Bahcesehir University is designed to give the student a strong background for study and research in both theoretical and empirical work in finance and related areas. Emphasis is placed on understanding the important concepts and models. In addition to having strong quantitative skills. The program offers two courses (derivatives and Business Forecasting) specifically in financial theory and its applications. Examples of potential areas of research for the financial economics dissertation include : stochastic behavior of security prices, contingent claims analysis and option pricing, equilibrium models with rational expectations
