Australia is considered to be one of the most popular countries for international students to study in. The country promotes innovation, creativity and independent thinking throughout it’s education system. Every year, thousands of students from different countries come to Australia to do diplomas, foundation courses, bachelor’s degrees and master degrees. Majority of the international students prefer to study two of the highly populated cities Melbourne and Sydney, mainly because finding jobs in these two cities are comparatively a lot easier.

But what are the courses / degrees international students should consider when it comes to deciding on which course to study.

Firstly and most importantly it’s very important for student’s to select a career in which they are really passionate about. If they are confused on selecting their career or not sure what to study than they can always seek guidance from Education Consultants. It will help them deciding on what to study and which institute or university to study in, as education consultants have the knowledge and are up to date about the new industry trends and job markets.

Top 5 courses for Australian Immigration

According to one of the professional Education consultant at Edvise Hub, below are the top courses that students should select that will make their path towards Permanent Residency in Australia a lot easier.

Nursing

For any developed or developing nation, the demand for people in the medical industry is always high. Same is the case with Australia, the country has a high demand of people with medical background. According to a research conducted earlier this year, it is predicted that NSW will face shortage of Nurses by the year 2030 (Miskelly. G, 2018). To meet this shortage of nurses and other medical professionals, the path to Permanent Residency in Australia for international students is still available and is comparatively a lot easier as compare to other professions. For any international students, medical field is very motivating mainly because of the fact that they will be able to get PR (permanent residency) once they graduate as a nurse.

Education and Training

Along with medical professionals, the demand for teachers and trainers are also very high in Australia. Teacher for primary and secondary schools are required in almost every state in Australia. Majority of the teachers in Australia are from Britain, and most of them moved to Australia in 2015. However, now many people from other nationalities are interested in taking education as their career. The major motivating factor for them to study teaching or become a teacher is the fact that after studying teaching, students can apply for Permanent Residency.

As per the above image, its very clear that majority of the teachers in primary and secondary schools are mostly over the age of 45. However the trend of becoming teachers at the age of 30+ is predicted to be more by the year of 2020. To start your career as a primary or secondary teacher in Australia, it is important that you make your move now and consult one of the education consultants who can guide you on how and where to start your process.

Engineering

When it comes to engineering, it is considered to be one of the most in demand profession in almost every country. Many private and public companies and institutes are in need of engineers. There are many subdomains under engineering that are high in demand, for example mechanical engineers, bio-medical engineers, chemical engineers and so on. Based on such high demand of engineers, almost every big university in Australia offer engineering degrees. However, if you are not a local in Australia or if you don’t know anyone with that background in Australia, than deciding on which university to select for your Engineering program is going to be difficult. This is where education consultants play their part, as they are the professionals to guide students in selecting what’s best for them when it comes to deciding on which university to study and how to apply admission in that university. According to a recent study conducted in Australia, every state is seeing engineering jobs vacancy to be growing every year, making it one of the most in demand profession in Australia.

Information Technology

Among various sectors, Information Technology is one of the most in demand occupations in Australia. Every year thousands of international students get enrolled in Australian Universities to study Information Technology. IT or Information Technology itself is a big domain, that covers areas like Big Data analytics, App Development, Networking, Programming, and so on. Graduates from Australian universities are very likely to get a job in the local Australian market itself (as long as they are talented and skillful). Even those who are not lucky enough to find themselves a job in the major cities of Australia, can always look for opportunities in outer suburbs or regional areas. At the same time, many students who return to their home countries after completing their degrees in IT are more likely to get jobs as compare to those who have completed the same degree from a local institute.

For any fresh starter, who’s interested in studying Information Technology should consider the following fields that are related to IT.

  • IT consultant. …
  • Cloud architect. …
  • Computer forensic investigator. …
  • Health IT specialist. …
  • Mobile application developer. …
  • Web developer. …
  • Software engineer. …
  • Information technology vendor manager.

If you are not sure, which field to select and which university to study in Australia, than consult one of the education consultants who can assist you accordingly.
