The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Flexible First Year) allows you to commence your studies with core subjects before transferring into your engineering stream of choice at the end of your first semester. You will still complete your engineering degree in the normal time (four years).

Degree Details

To complete the Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Flexible First Year) you must undertake 192 credit points (cp) worth of units (ie, subjects), which will take 4 years of full-time study.

A typical unit of study has a value of 6cp. Full-time students normally enrol in 48 cp worth of units each year.

Students undertaking the Flexible First Year program enrol in a common set of units in the first semester, then choose which of the engineering streams to pursue. Your detailed course structure will depend on which stream you choose to study.
