With a degree in civil engineering from La Trobe, you'll be equipped to work in a range of industries, from local, state and federal government to the energy and construction sectors.

    • Plan and direct geological surveys, and design foundations to withstand extreme pressures.

    • Create sustainable infrastructure that produces renewable energy such as wind, solar, hydro, marine and biofuels.
  • Transportation engineer
    • Design transport systems that facilitate the safe, efficient and environmentally friendly movement of people and goods.
  • Project estimator
    • Analyse projects, recommend improvements and manage stakeholders to improve workflows.

Subject prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

English language requirement

6.0 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 6.0.

Credit for previous study (advanced standing) is the recognition of prior study or learning that can be counted towards a qualification.
