Degree Details

The Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) will challenge you and develop your deep interest in science to create the foundation for a high-achieving career in scientific research and industry.

Throughout the program, you’ll learn interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving and build networks with other high-achieving students and research scientists through the completion of at least 1 major and 1 field of study.

You'll also have the option of completing a second major and/or minors across a broad range of scientific fields, with a choice from 24 majors and 32 minors. Alternatively, diversify your skill set by studying a minor in languages, communications, design, economics or humanities.

In your fourth and final year, you’ll choose from 1 of 38 fields of study to focus on during an extensive full-year independent research project.

You'll find expanding career possibilities in diverse roles within the government, health, corporate, environmental, and financial sectors and in research organisations globally. Advanced Science is also an excellent pathway into medicine or a research higher degree such as a PhD.

Prerequisites

Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C); Two of Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Specialist Mathematics or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C), at least one of which must be Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

TOEFL PB - Overall 570, listening 54, reading 54, writing 59/5.

Pearsons - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands.

BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.

CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.

OET is not accepted.
