Undergraduate program international student’s requirements
If you are interested in completing a bachelor’s degree at King’s College London, but the high school diploma offered by your school is not equivalent to A levels in the United Kingdom then you will need to first complete the King’s International Foundation course which spans over a year.
The King’s International Foundation program and the Extended King’s International Foundation program offer one-year, full-time courses designed to prepare the students for undergraduate study at the King’s College London and other top universities in the United Kingdom. There are 8 full-time pathways in the program for developing essential knowledge and skills in the students’ relevant subject area(s) and introduce the students to the UK education system.
The Extended King’s International Foundation program is for the students who need additional help with academic English and it involves additional 5 weeks of online English Language study. This program lasts from August to June
The King’s International Foundation is for students with high English proficiency and it lasts from September to June.
*The Higher School Certificate in Pakistan is not considered suitable for direct entry to KCL’s undergraduate degrees without further study.
Application Deadline for the King’s International Foundation
The applications for the King’s International Foundation usually open in October and are closed in April. This year, the applications were opened on 26th October 2020 and will close on 30th April 2021.
Academic requirements for King’s International Foundation
To apply at the King’s International Foundation or the Extended King’s International Foundation you must meet the English language requirements as well as the minimum academic entry requirements,
- A high school certificate (from your country of residence and an academic record (with marks for classes 11th and 12th with the required grades), including the required subjects for your chosen International Foundation course.
- A-Levels, AS levels, and other global qualifications
How to apply for the King’s International Foundation
To apply you need to:
- Register an account on KCL’s online application portal ‘King’s Apply’ Login – King’s Apply (kcl.ac.uk)‘, then
- Fill the online application form and submit it on the website.
If you have completed your 12th grade from a school that offers a diploma that is recognized in the United Kingdom for direct entrance into an undergraduate degree at a university then you can simply apply to King’s College London via UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). Or if you are already taking APs, IBs, A levels, or SATs, then you can directly apply to KCL, too.
*Applicants completing A-levels or other such qualifications at British or International Schools in Pakistan can be considered for direct entry at KCL.
Applications for the undergraduate program in KCL are submitted via the UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service).
Undergraduate Admission Deadlines
Applications to the UCAS can be made starting from the 1st of September for entrance to the university the following autumn. The standard application deadline is 15th January, but for applications in Medicine or Dentistry, the deadline is 15th October in the year before entry.
*For all international students, it is better to submit your application as soon as possible and apply for your visas by June.
How to apply via the UCAS
UCAS allows applicants to apply to 5 courses per year, but only 4 of those 5 may be Medicine/Dentistry courses.
Applicants need to create an account in UCAS ‘Apply’ and fill an application form. After that, the application is forwarded by UCAS to all of the universities the applicant has applied to.
POSTGRADUATE COURSES
For postgraduate courses, the requirements vary by program. Some programs might require specific grades in certain subjects and there might be certain non-academic requirements as well.
However, applicants must be proficient in the English language and are usually required to provide evidence of such.
All applicants’ qualifications and the institutions they have previously studied in are cross-checked on the UK NARIC (National Recognition Information Centre) databases. If the applicant’s acclaimed institutions or his qualifications are not present on the UK NARIC databases, his application is not entertained.
For Applicants in Pakistan
A 3 years Bachelor’s degree from Pakistan is usually not enough for direct entrance to KCL’s postgraduate courses. However, applicants with strong grades in a combination of Bachelors and Master’s degrees from Pakistan (which are comparable to a Bachelor (Hons) degree in the United Kingdom), when completed at recognized institutions are considered for admission.
The 4 year Bachelor’s degree which were completed before 2016 are only considered when paired with a 2 year Masters’ degree. The specific requirements for admission at KCL depend on the number of years completed in the Bachelor’s degree.
How to apply for a Postgraduate course
The application process for a Postgraduate program at King’s College London, is completed online on KCL’s website.

For the students at King’s College London, the tuition fee varies according to the courses chooses and the level. However, the average tuition fee for undergraduate programs is about 38709 USD while the average tuition fee for postgraduate programs is up to 38502 USD.
