The scholarship is funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations. The scholarship was established in 1983 and has since awarded scholarships to over 50,000 people from over 156 countries. Chevening Scholarships

The Chevening Scholarship is a prestigious award that enables outstanding individuals to study at leading universities of the UK. The scholarship provides full or partial funding for a masters degree.

Applications for the scholarship are made through an online portal, and are open to residents of any nationality who meet the eligibility criteria. The selection process is highly competitive, and successful applicants are typically those who can demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to their chosen field of study.

Who is eligible for Chevening Scholarships?

Pakistani candidates need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for Chevening:

  • Candidate must have an undergraduate degree that is equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours in the United Kingdom
  • Must be a Pakistani Citizen
  • Your application must list three courses that are eligible for a Chevening Scholarship
  • Must have a GPA between 3.0 and 3.59
  • Two-year work experiences at least
  • Two reference letters
  • IELTS Score
  • An unconditional offer letter from a UK university

One more special condition that a successful candidate must fulfil is that once the scholarship ends the students must return to Pakistan for two years minimum.

How to apply for Chevening Scholarships?

There are a few key things you need to do when applying for the Chevening Scholarship. The first is to make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria, which we have listed above. If you meet the criteria, you will then need to complete an online application form and submit it by the deadline.

Find a Course

But before all that you need to search for three courses that are eligible for the Chevening scholarship. Choose your course carefully as you will not be able to change your choice after submitting your application. 

Interview and Supporting Document

After your application has been reviewed if you are among the shortlisted applicants. you will be asked to attend an interview at a British Embassy or High Commission. After that, you will be asked to provide supporting documents, including your CV, academic transcripts, a personal statement and two reference letter. You will also need to have two references submitted on your behalf.

Interview results will be announced from June onwards.

Offer Deadline

For each of your chosen courses, you must submit a separate application directly through the university. To guarantee a spot, apply as soon as you can. You must get an unconditional offer for one of your desired courses before the deadline listed in our application timeline (13 July 2023) for your application year in order to get the scholarship. As soon as your offer letter is submitted, you can commence your studies in the UK and join a global network that you will be a part of for the rest of your life.
